Full of Life (2026)
hand-painted inkjet print, approx 210 x 297 mm
Full of Life is a hand-painted print created to mark the presentation of The Whole Routine at Nottingham Contemporary by Edward Thomasson.
Each print is individually painted in watercolour, making every edition a unique variation of this solo dance. Four colours are applied repeatedly in a fleeting sequence, like a choreographic motif inscribed on paper.
Presented by Nottingham Contemporary, proceeds from the sale of the edition support the current production and future presentations of The Whole Routine.
The Whole Routine is an evening-length musical performance by Edward Thomasson and a company of performers. Across six song-and-dance sequences, the work explores attempts to break from the numb repetitions of conventional interaction and the sometimes alarming awkwardness of trying to feel things differently.
As the performance requires little more than the presence of the performance group, funds raised through the sale of Full of Life contribute directly to performers’ fees and travel costs, helping to sustain and extend the life of the work.
