We are looking for participants for a workshop in Stockholm in March 2026 led by performance artist Edward Thomasson. Over 2 days the group will use song, dance and conversation to explore how to make a temporary environment for group performance-making.
We are looking to gather a diverse group of trained or untrained performers between 30 and 65 years old. No previous performance experience is required, just a desire to explore performing in public.
Workshops will take place at Mint on 27 and 28 March with a public performance on 29 March. During the workshops we will talk about our experiences of temporary intimacy and work with movement and singing as we develop a short performance work which will be shared as part of the Mint Poetry Festival 2026 at Zätasalen, ABF-huset.
Please send an expression of interest to burningdesires0000@gmail.com and we will reply to arrange a meeting with Edward online to talk about the project further
Looking forward to hearing from you!
BURNING DESIRES is a performance initiative organised by Edward Thomasson with support from Carolina Onagro. The initiative attempts to create contexts for people with a range of experience to explore their desire to perform. In performances, open workshops, and research projects, song, dance, spoken word, and enactment are used to explore how people try and fail to encounter each other. Working with strangers in a temporary setting, participants explore their own distinct ways into performance.
